Karen Nank, Fourth grade teacher

Karen earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Clarke University. She has been teaching in a Catholic school for over 30 years, including schools in Dubuque, Waterloo and Des Moines. Karen has spent the majority of her career in middle school science but is currently teaching fourth grade.

Karen has four sons and four grandchildren.

Teaching philosophy: I believe we need to meet all students where they are. I feel this is the most effective way to optimize learning and growth for all children.
